Botanical painting is a special, quiet time for me. I love the transparency and fluidness of watercolor and the discovery of patterns, shapes and colors. I paint primarily botanical watercolors, but also work in graphite and pen. I try to capture the beauty and grace that are inherent in plants and nature while giving each subject its own particular identity.
I majored in art and went on to receive graduate degrees in Communicative Disorders/Learning Disabilities. I have taught in public and private schools and University settings. Throughout my professional career I have enjoyed and used my art background. I am a member in the American Society of Botanical Arts, The North Shore Art League (Winnetka, IL), and the Chicago Art Institute.
